INFORMATION
The Historical Procession comes to life at the Church of the SS. Annunziata, winding through the charming streets of the town until it reaches the Church of Santa Croce. Along the route, participants can admire the reenactment of the rites dedicated to Saint Andrew, with Leonardo as an adult and Leonardo as a child carrying the iconic drawing of the Vitruvian Man.
The majestic Vinnovo, carried by pages and preceded by the Governors of the Vinci Wine Tax Office, follows the procession, accompanied by the Priors of the Company of the Holy Spirit, who lead the candle destined for blessing. As the procession winds through the streets of the village, the Christmas lights gradually illuminate, creating an enchanting path that guides visitors to the Church of Santa Croce.
Upon arrival, a brief religious rite opens the ceremony of blessing the candle and the Vinnovo, followed by official speeches. At the conclusion, the blessed Vinnovo is offered to attendees on the church’s forecourt, in a warm and convivial moment celebrating local traditions.
The wine is generously offered by the wineries Mancini Celestino e Figli, Tenuta Santini, and Azienda Agricola Il Piastrino.
